Cross Country 2023-24 Season

All Bexley AC members aged 11 upwards are able to compete for the club at Cross Country (XC). Great for young track athletes building up the endurance base for next year, or for half/full marathon runners giving a bit of variation and strengthening to your training. Come and join us, stick on your orange vest and help boost the team, competing against others in Kent and South East London!

We have a Cross Country Facebook group which is a one-stop for information and photos sharing. Known fixtures/dates are listed below, but may be subject to change. We also have a ‘Mudlarks’ whatsapp chat, which is another way to stay connected (look out for Club emails about this).

Entry costs and transport

The Club pays for your Kent League entry which covers the whole season, but we would ask that you commit to attending at least 2 matches please.

For National and Regional Championships these have seperate payments, which again the Club will cover, but we will need a deposit which will be refunded on the day for those able to run. Please share transport where possible as parking may be limited at some venues.

Kent Cross Country League fixture dates/venues/host clubs for the 2023/24 season.

IMPORTANT: Dates and venues are provisional and not yet confirmed by KCAA. Details can change at short notice so always check details with your team manager before travelling.

  • Sat 14 Oct 2023 – Foots Cray Meadows (all XC age groups) – hosted by Dartford Harriers AC
  • Sat 28 Oct 2023 – Somerhill Schools Tonbridge (all XC age groups) – hosted by Tonbridge AC
  • Sat 11 Nov 2023 – Danson Park (Senior Men, M70, W65 and Juniors) – hosted by Bexley AC
  • Sat 25 Nov 2023 – Swanley Park (Senior Women, M70, W65 and Juniors) hosted by Cambridge Harriers
  • Sat 10 Feb 2024 – Norman Park (seniors only) – hosted by Blackheath & Bromley

These are the Kent league matches, distance goes from 3k for under 13s to 8k for both men and women. Races usually start from midday with the under 13s, finishing with the older groups, wrapping up in about 3 hours.

  • Sat 27 Jan 2024 – Southern Champs at Beckenham Place Park, BR3 1SY
  • Sat 24 Feb 2024  – National Champs – Weston Park, Telford, TF11 8LE

In order to compete you need to be a member of the Club & wear the Club colours.

Cambridge Harriers XC Races:

We are invited to take part in the Cambridge Harriers XC series.in Joydens Wood. Dates are:

  • 5 mile: Sat 21 Oct 2023
  • 7.5 mile: Sat 30 Dec 2023
  • 10 mile: Sat 3 Feb 2024

These races start at 12pm, meeting in the Cambridge Harriers clubhouse (Glenhurst Avenue, Bexley) at 11am for registration. Entry is £5 payable by contacttess on the day. More information at https://www.cambridgeharriers.org/cross-country-jw-info
