December 2021 News

I did have some ideas on what to say this month, but I know that this time is precious to families and friends. So I’ll just keep it short. Well done to everyone who ran the club’s time trial last week and thank you to our timekeepers, hot chocolate makers and everyone else involved in putting on the event. Results will be pubilshed on the website here when available.

Firstly, I hope that you have all had a great Christmas and are keeping on top of the overindulging. I went out for my first run in a week yesterday and boy was it a sluggish affair!. December is always a hard month to get motivated so maybe entering a race is just that push you need? The round up of our December results can be found here.

Secondly, I’d like to say a huge thanks to all the coaches, helpers, run leaders and volunteers for their fantastic work in 2021. We literally could not function without them. We really appreciate them giving up their time to plan runs, lead on the day, help with beginners courses and club events, as well as encouraging you all to achieve your goals.

Thirdly, a thanks to all of you who turn up each week to run. Keep setting goals and pushing forward with your running. Keep talking to each other and supporting or sharing those mental battles, hints, tips and advice. Keep in contact with your coaches over any races, goals, or injuries and let us help you move forward or support where we can.

Fourth and finally, look to 2022 with refreshed enthusiasm, new goals and keep your eyes peeled for new opportunities arising from the club that may interest you.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year.
