Just thought I’d drop out a mid-month message, because I don’t know about you, but it’s been a tough last few weeks. I’m putting it down to the heat, but that’s not stopped everyone from getting out there and giving their training sessions a go. Well done to you, and a big thanks to the coaches too for adapting sessions where needed, it’s a great help.
What I do want to remind everyone about is the need for hydration – if you don’t bring a drink along with you make sure you’re taking on fluid during the day, or have a bottle in the car perhaps for when you finish. Keep on top of your health especially on the hot days, and don’t be afraid to take a break.
I know most of you are back in your groups now, but some people are still training on their own, either just for the odd session, or on a more long term basis. Whichever it is, try to keep in touch with your group via WhatsApp, and let them know how you’re getting on, and let your coaches know how you are coping doing the sessions solo as well.
There are more races coming up on the calendar and it’s great to have a healthy Bexley turnout, especially at the local ones – so share your ideas with others and try to get along in a group. Email any ideas in if you want them added to the events calendar on our webpage – and even when planning training runs, see if anyone in the group is about to keep you company.
Keep up the good efforts and the teamwork, it’s tough sometimes – but the end result is always worth it!
