On behalf of the Bexley AC Committee

Another brief update. The good news is that we have met with Lex Leisure and they have approved our plans for returning to the stadium.

We now have to put things in place to execute this strategy safely for members to return and this will have to be on a phased basis. Sessions will need to be booked in advance, as is the practice now, with individual coaches. There will be limits on numbers attending and initially restricted to track and field athletes.

Our road runners have agreed to carry on meeting away from the club as they are at present and this is much appreciated. It gives us much needed flexibility at this time where numbers are limited in the stadium.

An email will be sent to members with instructions for safely attending sessions and this will need to be acknowledged before a session can be booked.

The track itself is looking dusty and dirty and needs some attention. There are several areas of moss and a specialist treatment is taking place next week, with additional cleaning from a new machine that Lex have bought and some further items of necessary repair planned thereafter.

So, the track may not be at its best and not all facilities available in the short term but we are working towards an initial date of Tuesday 25 August for our first limited training night as a club.

These arrangements are subject to change as we are sure you will appreciate. Directives and guidelines can change very quickly, so please keep your eye on this space and our club website.

We have a further progress meeting with Lex Leisure next week to monitor progress on preparing the facility for our use.

Hope to see you soon.
