Bexley AC are delighted that Andy Barrow, triple Paralympian, three-time European gold medallist and former captain of the Great Britain wheelchair rugby team will be the guest of honour at the Myra Garrett 10k and 3k Fun Run on Sunday 21 July at Danson Park.
Now retired from competitive sport at the highest level, Andy is an inspirational speaker and mentor as well as being part of the Mayor’s Active Londoners campaign to promote sport as a unifying force to strengthen local communities in the capital. Andy went to school in Bexley and retains close links to the Borough. He’s delighted to support Bexley AC’s work with schools and groups in developing local talent and coaching and training for all. Andy is also pleased that Bexley AC have adopted Bexley Mencap as their chosen charity for the event. This recognises Bexley Mencap’s commitment to providing sports and keep fit activities for people with Learning Disabilities.
