Home Advantage for Bexley

The rain held off and conditions were good for our home cross country. Surface was a little damp but no real mud has been seen so far this season.

As normal first race was U13 girls, Chi Chi Rae Garland again ran strongly to finish 6th, Olivia Hale improving with each race was 20th ahead of Laurel Broughton 35, Rosie Chandler 36, Heather Beet 43 and Maya Broughton 44. They were 7th team. The U13 boys followed and as previous races Luke Harry was our first finisher in 28th, he was closely followed by Charlie Gray running very well in his first cross country of the season, Kaya Gediz was 49th, then Rishab Singhai 56th and Ryan Puszyk 75th, they were also 7th team.

We scored a team in the U15 girls with Tisha Singhai, Judie Lawrence and Kacey May Smith. They were 8th team. Tisha literally ran herself into the ground she was so tired coming down the home straight her legs were completely gone and she had to stop and lost quite a few places but was still our first finisher in 30th place, Judie almost caught her up and finished 33rd. Kacey May Smith ran steadily to finish 59th.

We only had one runner in the U15 boys race, Jaylen Pople was competing for his school in the English schools cup. Ewan Beet came in 58th. As previous races we did not have any runners in the U17/U20 women.

In the penultimate race of the day the U17/U20 men Ted Higgins ran a great race, he was in the leading group throughout the race and finished 2ndin the U17 race. Ronnie Stowell just edged ahead of Matthew Crane in a close finish they finished 29th and 30th. Jack Higgins was missing today with a sore Achilles. The U17’s were 5th team. In the U20 race Mitchell Horne was 5th and Regan Thomas 17th.

No senior men at this meeting so the senior women’s race was the final race of the day. We had a good showing here, Victoria Croucher ran a sensible race and ran strongly at the end to finish 8th. Alice Burnhope also ran well in 32nd. Harley Wooler running her first cross country for a few years did well to finish 76th and Beta Kubeta Todd was 82nd, they were 9th team.
