Training Arrangements

Athletes

Formal training is led by UK Athletics qualified Coaches.

Training takes place at the David Ives Stadium, (more commonly known as ERITH STADIUM) next to Erith Sports Centre, Avenue Road, Erith, Kent This is an excellent all- weather track, upgraded following a £1 million Lottery Grant in 1999.

For adults, and children over 11 years of age, (Normally Year 7s and above at school) training is on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings, from 6.30 PM until 8:15 PM.

For children 9-11 years old inclusive (normally in Year 5 & 6 at school) and some other youngsters who may be new to athletics, there is Sunday morning training from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. This group is called THE TIGERS. For the latest informatIon about this group please click HERE

A number of older athletes also meet up, on an informal basis, for longish runs. Please speak to the Road Running Secretary.

All member athletes pay a charge per training session attended plus there is an annual subscription fee which is very reasonable. For the latest fees click the link to Costs/Fees on the left.

Coaches and Officials

Important support is provided by the club's coaches and officials, most of whom are either ex-athletes or parents of athletes who compete for the club. The club frequently sponsors members with a strong interest and commitment in this area of the club's organisation, to attend approved coaching and officials courses.
