Though still spaces left blank in some events, it was just as well we took our largest team out to Canterbury so far this season. We had to ask many of the boys and girls to step out of their comfort zones to cover events, and they returned with some very pleasant surprises in many areas.
Please check out the results on the KCAA web site www.kcaa.org.uk/ The two third places were excellent results against stiff opposition at a very crowded Invicta track. My thanks to all the parents who helped.
Please keep this momentum going and our next match is at Dartford on the 1st June, very much our rivals for promotion.

How come our youngsters done so well but we finished 4th out of 7?
It’s quite easy to explain, we had no throwers, also only 3 under 13 girls, and not as many under13 boy’s either. This was a great shame as the team performed fantastically, two of the local teams above us filled their team sheets, and Essex Beagles likewise who also had a very strong sprinter group (though they found out ours was better). Attached is the link for the results http://www.ukydl.org.uk/page10.html please check them out, as you will see the Bexley lads and lasses done us proud.
Our next match is the Kent Young Athlete league at Canterbury this coming Sunday 12th May. We will have a coach leaving at 9.15 from the usual place. Thanks to our officials John Askew & Dave Winfield & Tony Garrett as always. (Thanks also to Mitch’s Dad Graham for the photos and the parents who helped us on the day.)
myra garrett quad kids entry form 2013As part of our endeavours to promote athletics for young people in general & in conjunction with the KLAN (Kent London Athletics Network). We will again run a Quad kids event at the Myra Garrett in Danson Park, this will be next to the tennis courts at the same time as the senior race. It is free to enter, but we do ask that you do pre-register with myself to guarantee an entry.
Quad kids is a fun event aimed at 8 to 11 year olds, comprising. Short sprint, standing long jump, howlers, middle distance run & a relay if time permits.
The first Kent Young Athletes League match of the season took place today (14th April) at Norman Park Bromley. Our youngsters were outstanding with the to be confirmed results showing 2nd for the boys, and the girls just being pipped for 2nd . Despite a large number of youngsters being unavailable and a few no shows. We still put up a fantastic performance. This will give us quite a headache with places in the team, being at a premium. Thanks to Stirling support from our officials and helpers- Liz, Kevin & Dawn, John G, Laura. Which ensured things could run without to many hiccups.
The headline performance from so many was, Cameron’s final leg on the 4×100 relay, they will be talking about at Norman Park for many years hence.
The results will be up shortly and will be found at the Kent website kcaa.org.uk
Special thanks to joint manager Tony Garret
Dear All
This Sunday 14th April, we have our first league match at Norman Park. We are scheduled to cover field events at 11, 12 & 2, and would be very grateful if we can have official’s to cover at these times. Being the first match myself (Kevin) & Tony as team managers will be very busy organising & declaring our team, which includes many making their debuts for the club. Otherwise we have found it very difficult to officiate and team manage at the same time. If you are not an official still volunteer and we promise to help.
Thanking you in advance for your help
Kevin & Tony

If you are going to the Nationals at Sunderland we are having a short meeting on Thursday, to go through a points etc. If you could please pass this message on
I would like to thank everyone, but I think the message below from Paul Hill’s say’s all
Hi Kevins, and Bexley A.C.
I thought the KSAA championships went “swimmingly” yesterday. What a tremendous advertisement for your club.
I hope you got plenty of “thank you`s” yesterday. I know that Peter Lenton and John Batty, the race referees, were really impressed by the course marking, and level of marshalling. A big contribution by Steve Walker and course layers.
Of course, I had thank you`s from other KSAA people, but they know that your clubs contribution was huge. Typified by the fact that Mr Winch had visited Danson Park on Fri to give an update on course conditions.
Dare I say, I was able to enjoy yesterday, because I had such confidence in the arrangements you had put in place. I am sure you will pass on our thanks to everyone.
A big personal thanks from me, and the KSAA.
Paul
